Chegar atrasado = Masculinidade!

Time-Keeping
Many men in business measure their masculinity in terms of how late they can be for a meeting. For them, arriving on time would show you were extremely junior or that you had so much free time you could afford to sit around waiting for other people to show up. Being late to a meeting shows everybody in it just how little time you’ve got and how lucky they are to have someone so in demand at their meeting.

Time
There is a finely graded scale of lateness for a meeting. Anything under 10 minutes doesn’t really count because that is the time that is taken up pouring the coffee and swapping notes on how bad the traffic is. Fifteen minutes late is the entry level for the serious latecomer. Anything over half an hour risks people not waiting, so professional time-wasters will usually manage to turn up after about 25 minutes.

Space
Late junior people will shuffle in timidly and sit there understanding absolutely nothing because they missed the crucial bit about why everyone’s there. Senior people breeze in and start pontificating about a subject that has actually been covered in the first 10 minutes (anything that has been agreed before they arrive will need to be unagreed on principle).

Relativity
Latecomers always shake their head in a bewildered way and let out a great sigh as though their lateness was the result of some cosmic conspiracy against them rather than the fatness of their head. Strangely, were there to be a meeting at which promotions were being given out on a first come, first served basis, those very same people would be at the front of the queue.

A pergunta que se impõe é: e a educaçãozinha também contribui para alguma coisa? E se for uma mulher a chegar atrasada? É mais quê?! Hmmm...
